Role & Responsibilities
The Dishwasher will play an important role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and smooth kitchen operations. The position requires a hardworking attitude, attention to cleanliness and the ability to work as part of a hospitality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and clean plates, bowls, glasses, cups, cutlery and other kitchen utensils used during food preparation and service.
- Operate the dishwashing area efficiently and ensure that clean utensils are available for kitchen and service operations.
- Remove food waste and leftover food from plates and utensils before washing.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dishwashing area, kitchen utility area and surrounding workspaces.
- Clean kitchen equipment, containers, trays and other items as required by the kitchen team.
- Use appropriate cleaning materials and follow proper procedures while washing and sanitizing dishes and kitchen equipment.
- Separate waste properly and dispose of food waste and other kitchen waste in the designated areas.
- Keep clean dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment properly arranged so that they can be easily accessed by kitchen and service staff.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and housekeeping activities whenever required during busy operating periods.
- Maintain proper hygiene practices, including keeping the hands, work area and equipment clean during working hours.
- Handle crockery, glassware and kitchen utensils carefully to minimize breakage and damage.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and cooperate with chefs, kitchen helpers and other hospitality staff to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience as a Dishwasher, Kitchen Steward or in a similar hospitality role will be preferred.
- Candidates should have a hardworking and responsible attitude.
- Ability to work for a 12-hour shift as required by the job.
- Basic understanding of cleanliness and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen or hospitality team.
