Role & Responsibilities
The Room Attendant helps maintain the hotel's housekeeping standards by ensuring guest rooms are clean, organized and ready for guests. The following are typical responsibilities for this position; the hotel's final duties may vary.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service guest rooms according to the hotel's housekeeping standards and assigned schedules.
- Make beds and change bed linen, pillowcases and other bedding items as required.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, washbasins, mirrors and bathroom fixtures.
- Dust and wipe furniture, shelves, tables, doors, windowsills and other room surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets and clean floors using the appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
- Replenish guest amenities and supplies, such as toiletries, towels, tissues and other designated room items.
- Collect used towels, bed linen and other laundry items and transfer them to the designated collection area.
- Check guest rooms for cleanliness, presentation and readiness before reporting them as serviced.
- Report damaged furniture, faulty fixtures, maintenance issues and missing items to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Follow hotel procedures for lost-and-found items and report any belongings left behind by guests.
- Use cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment safely and follow hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
- Coordinate with housekeeping supervisors and other hotel departments to support timely room servicing and guest requests.
